Best of Music...2009: Top 10 Albums

My picks for album of the year...

1. Fever Ray "Fever Ray"- Karin and her eerie electro sound was downright genius (and a bit scary, not going to lie). I'll give her concert of the year as well. Her Webster Hall show was surreal.

Favorite Track(s): Dry and Dusty and Seven (honestly, I like them all just as much)

2. Phoenix "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix"- The perfect band: Imported, great dressers and great musicians.

Favorite Track: 1901

3. Passion Pit "Manners"- These nerds really had us hooked in 2009 with their catchy songs, like Sleepyhead.

Favorite Track(s): Little Secrets and The Reeling

4. Yeah Yeah Yeah's "It's Blitz!"- Heads Will Roll was EPIC. None of us will ever be as cool as Karen O.

Favorite Track: Soft Shock

5. The XX "XX"- Simple, shy, yet elusive. A great, easy listen from start to finish.

Favorite Track: Heart Skipped a Beat

6. Arctic Monkeys "Humbug"- I just had to include them cause I love them too much. Plus, Alex Turner's accent when he sings is too sexy.

Favorite Track: Dangerous Animals

7. Animal Collective "Merriweather Post Pavilion"- This is what an acid trip probably feels like.

Favorite Track: My Girls

8. Dan Auerbach "Keep it Hid"- This guy is a force to be reckon with when it comes to the guitar. Bluesy rock at its finest.

Favorite Track: Heartbroken, In Disrepair

9. Kid CuDi "Man on the Moon"- This kid is the shit. Kudos on collaborating with "indie" artists such as MGMT and Ratatat.

Favorite Track: CuDi Zone

10. Lady Gaga "The Fame Monster"- It's Gaga. She is the pop artist of the year. She is amazing. Period.

Favorite Track: Alejandro

Dry and Dusty

These pics are long overdue but I had to post them.

I saw Fever Ray in concert at my favorite venue ever: Webster Hall. On 8/28 Karin transformed Webster Hall into a one-of-a-kind, surreal and bizzare experience. I felt like I was transported into a dream. The bright lasers and antique lamps in the stage were amazing.

Hands down, one of the best concerts I've seen this year.

The lamps would turn off and on with the beat of the drums. I want them lol.

Freaky.

Karin= LOVE
