Photo Diary: A Snow-Covered Central Park

These pictures are from last winter but I have never posted them on the blog before.  Today has been a cold day here at NYC (after the tease that was yesterday) and it reminded me these pictures were just hiding somewhere on my computer.  That day was freezing and I didn't prepare my toes for the inches of snow.  It took 30 minutes outside to realize rain boots are just not proper winter attire.

Santacon-1, Me-0

One of the things that I love most about New York City is that while 20 something year olds are getting married and having children in remote parts of the world (ahem, home) here we are still allowed to be immature and act like fools.

Santacon this year was INSANE. The annual Santa convention took place last Saturday, the 12th, all over the boroughs. I started bar hopping at 1PM down around Stone Street and was only able to make it up to the West Village because, let's just say, I needed to be put to bed ASAP.

If you live in the city and still haven't experienced it you are clearly missing out. What's better than dressing up, day drinking and meeting new people and/or bonding with old friends? Yeah, I can't think of it either.

Making a naughty list, and checking it twice

Eat.Here.Now: Boca Chica

If you're ever around the East Village and want to eat amazing latin food for a good price, go to Boca Chica. Main entries range from $13 to $25 bucks and they serve pretty big portions. But be careful with the drinks, you'll be tipsy off of one margarita.

I recommend:

- Chicken Havana: Chicken breast sauteed with almonds and other yummy ingredients I can't remember off the top of my head :)

- Ropa Vieja: Shredded beef in a delicious tomato based sauce

- Beef Piononos: Spicy ground beef wrapped around sweet plantains (bold combination, delicious result)
