A Gatsby Affair: Fall Wedding

A beautifully detailed not-so-fall wedding in Philly that left me wanting to go back in time to the 20s.  The bride's dress, the antique reception hall, the champagne glasses, the music.  Everything screamed  The Great Gatsby.  

Such a great weekend with family.  Couldn't ask for more. Well, maybe for not to have been 90 degrees in October, but I won't really complain about that! 

Officially Boot Season

That means I officially have three months to enjoy cold weather before it turns brutal.  I am an island girl.  Anything below 40 is not my jam...

Easy.Chic.DIY: Colored Pumpkins

I saw this on Pinterest the other day and I immediately put it on my to do list for October.  Instead of carving pumpkins that consist of two triangles and a rectangle (eyes and mouth, done!) or reliving my college years with one of these, I've decided to go the classy route this time.  I'm a grown woman and that is what grown woman do.  

No, but really, these pumpkins are absolutely gorgeous and would look great as a table decoration. All you need are three small, funky sized pumpkins, acrylic paint and a paint brush.  As a touch I would paint the stem gold, but your call.

Inspiration Board: Blazers

Today was Chi-LLY. Days of ~70 degrees will soon be over and we will be left with colder and darker days ahead (how melodramatic of me). I threw half my fall closet away to force myself to buy some new pieces, such as a new blazer, to make me looks less frumpy at work. I deal with spreadsheets.  Exactly.

And now for my faves.  I think the red and mint green blazers are a must.

Autumnal Equinox Begins Today

Yeah! Fall is here!  I say this why I snuggle in my bed ALONE with a horrible cough that hasn't gone away since last Saturday.  Thing is that, when the weather hits below 70 my body discombobulates, panics, and as a result gets sick faster than you can say "influenza".  I am a summer girl through and through BUT ever since I was exposed to seasons five years ago when I moved here, I have to say, it's quite beautiful. A few things that get me excited for fall and are a must do prior to winter:

Head to Central Park, watch the leaves turn orange/red, and smell the crisp clean air.

Attend the NY Food and Wine Festival.  My client will be doing some sponsorships so I'm hoping to rub some elbows with Food Network chefs.  Wishful thinking.  Regardless, I'll be stuffing myself with yummy food and getting inappropriate off of free wine.  A win regardless.

Fall Must-Have: Lace-up Shoes

Forgive my un-feminine style, but who doesn't want one of these lace-up shoes adorning your feet while you ease into fall?  These will look great and won't let you break your leg while you slip off the taxi in the semi frozen rain.  So excited for Fall!!! **insert exaggerative thumbs up**

Fall 2012 Sneak Peak
